New FMLA Forms With FFCRA Guidelines As Per DOL!
Now that the Department of Labor has issued new FMLA forms and the New Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) is in place it is critical for Employers and Leaders to be knowledgeable about the impact and the compliance consequences. Although there are many updates provided by many different resources, it is imperative that Employers and Leaders count on the experts to explain health resources and compliance experts to assist them with the regulations since they are happening and changing daily. This webinar by industry expert Margie Faulk, PHR, SHRM-CP, will provide all attendees the critical information needed to mitigate all the requirements to stay afloat and to communicate effectively to employees to ensure accurate information on health, safety, paid leave and other resources offered to survive this pandemic.
In response to COVID-19, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has updated and/or provided guidance related to the current employment concerns specific to the pandemic. The guidance offers helpful insights into how the agencies are balancing changes to normalcy, along with legal requirements posed by a variety of employment laws. The EEOC is updating this 2009 publication to address its application to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Employers and employees should follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state/local public health authorities on how best to slow the spread of this disease and protect workers, customers, clients, and the general public.
The FFCRA was based on the FMLA with added amendments to accommodate the changes and resources for the COVID-19. It established paid sick leave under certain criteria and an expanded leave to accommodate employees who are unable to work due to school closures. This training will teach all attendees the critical information needed to mitigate all the requirements to stay afloat and to communicate effectively to employees to ensure accurate information on health, safety, paid leave and other resources offered to survive this crisis.
In response to the new challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced temporary flexibility in the requirements for completing Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, while employers are operating remotely. This training will cover the changes initiated by DHS and how Employers can mitigate the changes and still stay compliant.
Employers must get prepared for all the employment regulations scheduled to be effective in 2021 and beyond. Federal regulations have increased more this year than in previous years. The Department of Labor (DOL) has increased its efforts to audit companies who have not updated their policies & workplace regulations. Employee handbooks have been a tool for Employers from small to large companies for several years. Employee handbooks are also a critical communication tool for employees to understand what the company expects from them as well as what the company expects from employees.
